Responsibilities

 

The Communications Department is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, consistent communications program to ensure that town residents are well-informed of the services, news, events, accomplishments and initiatives of the Town of Fuquay-Varina.

The Communications Department maintains the town's website and social media and provides a range of marketing services that include advertising, public relations, media relations, print and electronic communications. The department works closely with all Town departments to provide accurate and timely information to citizens and media outlets.

In 2017, the Town of Fuquay-Varina won state and national awards for communications efforts, including a Savvy and two silver awards from the national City-County Communications & Marketing Association; a silver award from the International Economic Development Council in Economic Development Awards; and a two first-place and one second-place award from the North Carolina City & County Communicators Association.
