Water Conservation Notice

In January of 2008, the Town Board of Commissioners passed a Water Conservation Ordinance that affects every citizen of the Town. Below is a short excerpt that addresses the year round water conservation measures that took effect on May 1, 2008.

Annual Water Conservation Measures

Every town customer shall comply with the following schedule for the automated irrigation (sprinklers and irrigation systems) of outdoor landscaping (such as grass, shrubbery, trees, flowers and vegetable gardens) annually (May 1 through October 31):
  • For customers whose address numbers end in an even digit, such watering shall be restricted to Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
  • For customers whose address numbers end in an odd digit, such watering shall be restricted to Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
  • Landscapers or property owners engaged in establishing new grass seed, sod or landscaping may purchase one 45-day temporary permit per site to establish the new vegetation.
  • These annual watering restrictions do not apply to drip irrigation systems.
