Let’s get the party started!  The Landsharks Band sail into Fuquay-Varina to open the Celebrate Fuquay-Varina festival with a very special concert!  The Landsharks have appeared with Jimmy Buffett, opened for The Beach Boys and performed at the Super Bowl! They regularly play at Disney, Universal Studios and Margaritaville.  Now the Landsharks bring their Jimmy Buffet style music to Fuquay-Varina for a free, fun filled party on Broad Street. Fins up!

Please sign up to give blood! Every unit of blood donated during our blood drive will help save lives.  Each recipient of your blood donation has his or her own story.  He or she could be an accident or trauma victim, cancer patient, a mother giving birth, a premature baby, a transplant recipient or surgical candidate.  Our impact goes beyond the patient as it is multiplied by the impact it has on that person’s loved ones who are thankful for the unit we donated.

Haunted Trail
Saturday, October 21, 5 pm is Family Fright, Full Fright 7-9 pm

Trail is at Carroll Howard Johnson Park
Parking:  There is no parking at Carroll Howard but you can park your car at South Park and ride a shuttle!

Family Fright, appropriate for families with younger children, will be from 5-6 pm. Full Fright, which will be scarier, will take place from 7-9 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. The Haunted Trail is free, but please note there will be scary stuff, so enter at your own risk! This is an outdoor activity with low lighting so remember to wear appropriate shoes, preferably tennis shoes and dress for the weather.

Trick or Treat in Downtown Fuquay-Varina is a FREE annual Halloween event sponsored by FVDA and the merchants along the Fuquay, Link and Varina Retail Districts.  Parents are invited to dress-up their ghosts and goblins, grab a bag and visit the merchants that display the sign, “Trick or Treat Here!”

Innovate Fuquay-Varina

Do you have an idea for a business but don’t know where to start?  Innovate Fuquay-Varina fosters innovation in small business development through a series of monthly support meetings leading up to the InnovateFV Weekend, Jan 26-28.

The program is open to new and existing businesses.  The program is also seeking mentors with entrepreneurial expertise to share. Find out more information.

Project Enlightenment Kindergarten Program
Getting Ready for Kindergarten offers rising kindergarteners the opportunity to attend a FREE 28 session facilitated playgroup to learn skills that prepare them for success in school. The playgroup is open to families who live in Wake County, have limited family income and who have a child who was 4 by August 31st, 2017. There are 4 sessions available and groups meet twice a week for 14 weeks. The Fall/Winter sessions are available at Project Enlightenment or Millbrook UMC from October 10th-February 1st. The Winter/Spring sessions meet at Fuquay Varina UMC or Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church from February 13th-May 29th.
