A community National Day of Prayer observance will be held Thursday, May 3, noon-1 pm at the Fuquay-Varina Town Hall flagpole (401 Old Honeycutt Road). This year's theme is Pray for America - UNITY. All are encouraged to come and join together in this time of prayer for our nation and our community.
En Plein Air Paint-off

En Plein Air Paint-Off is an exciting free outdoor event to support artists in our area and bring public art to our streets. Join us and see all that downtown has to offer. Friday and Saturday afternoon, a contest of skills will challenge each artist to create an original oil or acrylic masterpiece of Fuquay-Varina Downtown’s historic landscape. On Saturday evening a public auction will be held where art enthusiasts will have a chance to take home one of these treasures that will become a collection for many generations to come.

Learn about Fuquay-Varina’s history at Heritage Day held on Sat., May 5 from 10 am – 4 pm at the Fuquay-Varina History Museum and adjoining Ashworth Park. The event will feature tours of the many historic buildings, presentations and old-fashioned games for the kids. The Tarheel A’s will be onsite with a display of Ford Model A’s. The event is free. Lunch will be available for a nominal fee.

Freedom Balloon Fest
Fleming Loop Park, Fuquay-Varina, NC
Over Memorial Day, join us in Fuquay-Varina for the Freedom Balloon Fest, one of the nation’s premier hot air balloon festivals. Many events are planned at Fleming Loop Recreational Park with other activities included throughout our town’s vibrant downtown district over the Memorial Day weekend.

The 14th Annual Run the Quay road race features a 5K, a 10K, a 15Quay Challenge (combining the 5K and 10K times), and a Children’s Fun Run! This quartet of races is held in historic downtown Fuquay-Varina, and both the 5K and 10K wind their way through charming neighborhoods in the southern tip of Wake County. Register Here!
Summer Camp Registration
Registration for summer camp begins April 9. The Town will host weekly-themed, camps beginning June 18 thru August 10 for children who have completed K-5. Growers Market at Centennial Square

The group meets on Monday evenings at Falcon Hut starting at 7:30 pm. Join us! School's Out Food Drive
Help us fight child hunger this summer! Unfortunately, hunger doesn't take a holiday and summer is a high demand time for the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry. That's why the Fuquay-Varina Fire Department is hosting a food drive from May 1- June 30. Drop non-perishable food items at any of our fire stations (301 S. Fuquay Avenue, 5617 Hilltop Road, 2474 Bud Lipscomb Road) or Town Hall located at 401 Old Honeycutt Road.
Project Enlightenment Kindergarten Program
Getting Ready for Kindergarten offers rising kindergarteners the opportunity to attend a FREE 28 session facilitated playgroup to learn skills that prepare them for success in school. The playgroup is open to families who live in Wake County, have limited family income and who have a child who was 4 by August 31st, 2017. There are 4 sessions available and groups meet twice a week for 14 weeks. The Fall/Winter sessions are available at Project Enlightenment or Millbrook UMC from October 10th-February 1st. The Winter/Spring sessions meet at Fuquay Varina UMC or Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church from February 13th-May 29th.
