Hunger Does Not Vacation - Clip Sized

Help Fight Child Hunger This Summer

A large number of students in the Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, and Willow Springs area receive free or reduced breakfasts and lunches during the school year.  When children are out of school for the summer, the parents who are already struggling to provide food for their families need to provide 1-2 more meals per child each day.  Many parents cannot afford the extra meals and children are forced to go without eating.

The goal of the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry’s Summer School Bag Program is to help supplement groceries to families that usually have children receiving free or reduced breakfasts and lunches at school.  In 2016, the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry distributed Summer School Bags to 565 families between May and August.

The Fuquay-Varina Fire Department would like to help the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry by collecting items to go in the Summer School Bags from May 1st – June 30th.  Please help us guarantee no child goes hungry this summer.
