Utility Customer Service
Setting Up Utility Service (March 15, 2020)
To establish service with the Town of Fuquay-Varina, an application must be completed and submitted to the customer service office. Currently, walk-in service is not available since Town Hall is closed to the public to slow the spread of COVID-19, however, other methods are available.
If you are renting, there is a $75 deposit (check or money order) that you must turn in with your application. You can mail it in or put in the drop box located behind town hall. Both the application and deposit must be received prior to service being turned on.
Owner Occupied Property
If you own the property and you provide proof of ownership, the town will waive the deposit. Same day service is available as long as the town receives your application by 4 p.m. For proof of ownership, a smart phone photo of the upper portion of a closing disclosure with your name connected to the property is needed. Send the application and proof of ownership via mail, fax, email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or place in the drop box located behind town hall. -19.
Complete the Water, Sewer and Sanitation Application.
|Bill Date||Due Date||Cutoff Date|
If the town does not receive your payment by the due date, a $5 late fee is assessed and a courtesy notice is mailed to you. Accounts whose balances and late fee are not paid by 8 a.m. on the cut-off date are subject to disconnection and an additional $15 fee is added to the bill. Cut off dates are stated on both the utility bill and the late notice.
Returned checks and bank drafts are subject to a $25 fee. You have 10 days from the date of the letter to pay. Failure to pay will result in disconnection.
Utility bills may be paid by the following methods:
- Automatic withdrawal from a checking account (comes out one day before your utility bill is due). Download a Bank Draft Application Form (PDF).
- Cash, check or money-order
- Online with a debit or credit card (a convenience fee is applied to the balance). Pay or view your bill online .
Receiving Your Utility Bill
You may receive your utility bill either by mail or you can sign up for e-billing - which means you will receive an email notification that your bill is ready to view online. E-bill ensures the quickest delivery to you. You receive your bill the same day it is generated with no post office delays.
Have you had a water leak? The town will consider adjustments to the sewer portion of the utility bill in cases where the water did not go into the sewer system (service line leaks, hot water tank leaks, outside faucet leaks). Leaks where the water goes back into the sewer system (toilets, inside sinks / faucets) are not adjustable. Please contact the Utilities Office at 919-552-1404.
To end service, complete the Contact Us form. We will need your current service address, the date you want service to end and a forwarding address (if you have one).
