Fuquay-Varina is part of the Wake County Public School System, the largest school system in the state of North Carolina, and one of the top performing large systems in the nation. As part of that system, Fuquay-Varina is proud to currently have seven elementary schools, one middle school, two high school and one public charter school.
Additional schools are planned. According WCPSS, design of Herbert Akins Middle School is slated to begin construction in 2021 and design of a new Fuquay-Varina Middle School is anticipated some time in 2020/2021.
