Fire Protection

The Town of Fuquay-Varina Fire Department is a municipal combination career/volunteer department located in Southern Wake County, approximately 15 miles from Raleigh. We provide fire protection to over 64,500 residents in a 66 square-mile jurisdiction, with approximately 40,000 residents in corporate limits. Our district ranges from urban to rural settings, mostly residential with numerous commercial and industrial structures.

Staffing & Equipment

We operate 4 engines, 2 ladder trucks, 1 rescue truck, 4 tankers, and 1 brush truck out of three stations. Our department is led by Chief Jim Jones, has 66 career staff, 1 part-time firefighter, and 6 volunteers for a total of 73 personnel. 

Services

The Town's Fire Department provides traditional fire protection, rescue/extrication, and water rescue to the Town of Fuquay-Varina and the Furina Fire District. We also respond to medical calls with Wake County EMS as Emergency Medical Technicians.

Growth

The Fuquay-Varina Fire District has undergone tremendous growth in recent years. The Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area is considered one of the fastest-growing areas in the United States. As the area continues to grow we will expand our capabilities to provide the highest level of service possible.
