Wake County Public School System operates seven elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school in Fuquay-Varina. A second public high school is under construction. A public charter school also operates a middle and high school.
Wake Tech enrolls more than 70,000 students annually. It's largest campus, the Southern Campus, is adjacent to Fuquay-Varina and the new 540 Triangle Expressway extension.
Nearly 50% of Fuquay-Varina's population holds a bachelor's degree or higher. Fuquay-Varina is within a 45-minute drive of three major research universities — North Carolina State University, Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill — and seven other colleges and universities, including nearby Campbell University.
