Fuquay-Varina's Main Street Program

In 2006, Fuquay-Varina was selected to participate in the North Carolina Main Street© Program, developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation that promotes downtown revitalization within the context of historic preservation. Beginning July 1, 2016, the Town of Fuquay-Varina began administering the Town’s Main Street Program under the organization of the Town’s Economic Development Department via the Downtown Manager Department. 

The Fuquay-Varina Main Street Program is guided by the Town Board and Town Staff with the support of the FV Downtown Advisory Committee.

What is the NC Main Street Program?

The NC Main Street Center works to stimulate economic development within the context of historic preservation, using a comprehensive approach to downtown revitalization developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and utilized by the National Main Street Center to assist communities across the country.

As a Designated Main Street Member, it is important that Fuquay-Varina downtown continue to set a high standard. The Town of Fuquay-Varina and its resources will work to ensure that the important principles of the NC Main Street Program are implemented and achieved.

As a Main Street America™ Accredited program, Fuquay-Varina is a recognized leading program among the national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. All Main Street America™ Accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by Main Street America.
