Independence Day Celebration
Join us for fireworks, music, and fun on July 1 at South Park. Gates open at 6 pm, and fireworks will begin at sundown (generally around 9:15 pm). This time is dependent on the weather.
A concert featuring Spare Change begins at 6:30 pm. Food Trucks will be onsite and the Splash Pad will be open from 6 to 8:30 pm.
Make sure to bring a blanket or chair and get there early to claim the best location to view the fireworks.
The event is alcohol-free; however, coolers are allowed. The Town of Fuquay-Varina ordinance prohibits ALL animals in the event area, so please leave your animals comfortably at home.

When the lots are full, attendees may find public parking in Downtown Fuquay or at Fleming Loop Park.

South Park provides a safe distance between attendees and fireworks, while also allowing space for food vendors and attendees to view the concert and fireworks.
There are more fireworks vendors available on July 1 due to decreased availability of vendors since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, holding the event on the weekend kicks off the holiday season and extends your celebration. Attendees are able to attend multiple events during the July 4 week, or spend Independence Day at home after celebrating with the community on Saturday.
Yes, normal Splash Pad fees apply. If you are a resident, be sure to have your Splash Pad card, which can be picked up at the Community Center during regular business hours. There is a $2 fee per person for non-residents. Fees are only payable by card; no cash is accepted at the Splash Pad.
