Chicago Dance Crash

Saturday, October 29, 2022

This award-winning dance company, led by artistic director Jessica Deahr, emphasizes a unique mission of both athleticism and accessibility. A two-time winner of the Black Theater Alliance Award for Choreography, Crash was recognized for creating "The Most Inventive New Work" of 2017 by Dance Magazine and hailed by Newcity Stage as one of the top dance companies to emerge since the year 2000. The Crash aesthetic is most notably recognized in works ranging from full length productions to repertory pieces and freestyles. “Dance Crash is a solidly established ensemble that draws on a slew of styles, from pop (breakdance, hip hop, martial arts) to ballet, modern and jazz, impressively unifying them into a single aesthetic.” -Chicago Sun-Times
