How do I apply for a job with the Police Department?: You can file an application by contacting the Town’s Human Resources Department. 1. Does the Town of Fuquay-Varina have an Animal Control Officer?: No. If a citizen wishes to report an injured or stray animal, please call Wake County Animal Control at 919-856-6911. If it is an emergency situation Wake County Animal Control would be called out by the Police Department.

3. How do I file a police report?: In order to file a police report you must contact the police department by phone at 919-552-3191 or come in person to the police department at 401 Old Honeycutt Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

4. How do I obtain a copy of a police report?: You can obtain a copy of a police report in person at 401 Old Honeycutt Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. Or you can mail in your request to the address listed above. You must also include a $3 payment for all copies of police reports either in person or by mail. You may obtain a copy of a traffic collision report online as well as we have a partnership with CRASHDOCS by Carfax. 5. How old must my child be before he doesn't have to use a safety seat?: All children less than 16 years of age must be properly restrained in a child restraint, booster seat, or safety belt no matter where they sit. Children less than age 5 and less than 40 pounds must be properly restrained in the back seat if the vehicle is equipped with an active front passenger-side air bag. Children less than age 8 and less than 80 pounds must ride in a weight - appropriate child restraint or booster seat certified to meet federal motor vehicle safety standards. When a child reaches age 8 (regardless of weight) or 80 pounds (regardless of age), a properly-fitted safety belt may be used to restrain the child. If there is no lap and shoulder belt - equipped seating position available for using a belt-positioning booster seat, a child less than age 8 and between 40 and 80 pounds may be restrained by a properly-fitted lap belt only. Warning: Belt-positioning booster seats must never be used with just a lap belt.

6. What can I do to help the Police protect my neighborhood?: Be aware of your surroundings. Get to know your neighbors. Lock your vehicles when parked outside of your home, at work or when shopping. When you notice suspicious activity in your neighborhood, call the Police at 919-552-3191. Be able to provide detailed information about the person or persons whom you suspect are involved in criminal activity, to include a detailed clothing description along with height and weight, hair and facial features. Help us make the Town of Fuquay-Varina one of the safest communities in the country. We need you to report crimes. If you see something, say something. 7. What should I do if I'm in an automobile accident?: Our first concern is your health and safety. If you are involved in an accident, determine if anyone is injured. If anyone is injured, call 911 and request an ambulance. If there are no injuries, you may call the Police Department directly at 919-552-3191. For your safety you should remain in your vehicle until emergency personnel arrive. Have your driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance available for the investigating officer.

8. Who can help me install my child's car seat?: The Fuquay-Varina Fire Department, located at 301 South Fuquay Avenue in Fuquay-Varina, NC. is a Child Passenger Safety Permanent Checking Station. The Fuquay-Varina Police Department, located at 401 Old Honeycutt Rd. Fuquay-Varina offers child safety seat installation by appointment. Please contact Sgt. 9. Does the FVPD offer fingerprinting services?: No, the Fuquay-Varina Police Department does not offer fingerprinting services for the public. We recommend contacting the City-County Bureau of Identification (CCBI) in Raleigh/Wake County at 919-856-6300.

10. How do I schedule a police officer for a safety presentation?: To schedule a safety presentation for your neighborhood, business or community group, contact Corporal Daniel Look, Community Outreach Officer at (919) 552-3191 or email at dlook@fuquay-varina.org.

11. How do I hire a FVPD officer for a special event/part-time job?: To schedule a police officer for a part-time job for a special event or security at a business, contact Captain Chris Gathman (919)552-1434 or at cgathman@fuquay-varina.org. Each request is set up as a contract for secondary employment with the Town of Fuquay-Varina. The hourly rate is the actual officer’s salary/benefits per hour with a minimum of three hours. A contract is signed by the requesting party for the officer for the event and the Town bills the requesting party.
