What days are practices and games held ?: Preseason practices will be held either Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and / or
Saturdays. Teams will have one weeknight practice and one Saturday practice.
Once games begin, they will be held Saturdays between 8am - 5pm; in season practices will be held weeknights. We will avoid using Wednesday and Sundays. 4 and 5 year old soccer will have their practices 30 - 45 minutes prior to the start of their game on Saturdays. 1. Can my child play up an age division?: We encourage parents to keep their children in their respective age groups in order to maintain the integrity of each division. Each division needs players at all skill levels in order to make the division an enjoyable experience. For those children whose skill levels exceed their age group, the league will determine if / when a child will be moved up an age group.

2. How are teams determined? Are there cuts?: Teams will be assigned randomly by the Recreation Department for 4U-7U. 8U-17U will participate in player evaluations and coaches draft. Anyone who signs up and pays will be placed on a team. Accommodations for special requests cannot be guaranteed.

3. How do I sign up?: For online registration go to the Fuquay-Varina Parks & Recreation Online Registration site.

4. How will I be notified?: Once teams are formed, coaches will contact parents either by phone or email to notify you of game / practice schedules, important changes, pictures, etc. We will primarily communicate through email but most updates will be posted to the Recreation Department’s webpage.

6. What are the age groups?: Soccer is for ages 4 - 18 years old for girls and boys. Teams will be coed up to age 8.
All divisions are subject to change based on the number of registrants, divisions are as follows: 4U, 5U, 6U, 7U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 17U.

9. What equipment am I responsible for?: Parents will be responsible for purchasing black shorts, shin guards, and socks. The recreation department will provide one playing shirt per player.

10. What is the age cutoff date?: The age cutoff date is August 1 of the playing year.

12. Where will practices and games be held?: Locations for each division are subject to change. All games and practices are held on town owned or town leased facilities. Your specific location is identified on the game and practice schedule. Important abbreviations: Herbert Aikens (HA); Old Honeycutt (OH); Fleming Loop (FL); Banks Rd Elementary (BR); Kinton Field (KF). The number beside the abbreviation indicates the field number you're game or practice will be played. If there is an A or B beside the field number, this means the field is shared and your team has half of the field (this is only done for practices).
